Welcome to Healthy Steps Kids Cook. These Terms & Conditions apply to your use of this website and registration for classes, camps, workshops, private events, and other programs offered by Healthy Steps Kids Cook (“HSKC,” “we,” “our,” or “us”).
By using this website, registering a participant, or purchasing a program, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
Registration & Payment
Registration is required to reserve a space in a class, camp, workshop, or event. Space may be limited and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Payment is due according to the terms provided at registration. A participant's space is not guaranteed until registration and any required payment have been completed.
Parents or legal guardians registering a minor confirm that they have the authority to register the child and agree to these terms on the child's behalf.
Cancellations & Refunds
All registrations and payments are final. Healthy Steps Kids Cook does not offer refunds for cancellations, missed classes, scheduling conflicts, illness, or a participant choosing not to attend.
Because class sizes are limited and supplies, ingredients, staffing, and space are planned in advance based on enrollment, payments cannot be refunded once registration is completed.
If Healthy Steps Kids Cook cancels a class, camp, workshop, or event, registered families will be notified as soon as possible. Families will be offered a rescheduled date, class credit, or refund, as determined by Healthy Steps Kids Cook based on the circumstances.
Healthy Steps Kids Cook reserves the right to modify class dates, times, locations, instructors, recipes, or activities when necessary.
Food Allergies & Dietary Needs
Cooking activities may involve common food allergens, including but not limited to milk, eggs, wheat, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame, and other ingredients.
Parents and guardians are responsible for informing Healthy Steps Kids Cook of known food allergies, dietary restrictions, or other relevant needs before participation.
While reasonable care may be taken to accommodate participants when possible, Healthy Steps Kids Cook cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment or guarantee against cross-contact.
Parents and guardians should determine whether a program is appropriate for their child based on the child's individual needs.
Safety & Participation
Cooking is a hands-on activity and may involve kitchen tools, appliances, heat, hot surfaces, ingredients, and other equipment appropriate to the class.
Participants are expected to follow instructor directions and safety guidelines at all times.
Healthy Steps Kids Cook reserves the right to modify a participant's activity or restrict the use of certain tools or equipment when necessary for safety.
Participant Conduct
Our goal is to provide a welcoming, positive, and safe learning environment where kids can cook, learn, and have fun.
Participants are expected to treat instructors, volunteers, other students, facilities, and equipment with respect. Running, horseplay, unsafe use of equipment, or behavior that creates a safety concern may result in a participant being removed from an activity.
If behavior presents an ongoing safety concern, a parent or guardian may be contacted and asked to pick up the participant.
Drop-Off & Pick-Up
Parents and guardians are responsible for following the arrival, dismissal, drop-off, and pick-up instructions provided for each program.
Children must be picked up promptly at the scheduled end of the program unless other arrangements have been approved in advance.
Healthy Steps Kids Cook is not responsible for participants before the designated check-in time or after the designated program end time, except as specifically arranged.
Class Activities & Recipes
Recipes, ingredients, activities, and schedules may be adjusted based on ingredient availability, participant needs, facility requirements, time constraints, or other circumstances.
Some classes may complete more or fewer recipes than originally anticipated depending on the pace of the group.
Photos & Videos
Healthy Steps Kids Cook may photograph or record classes, camps, workshops, or events for promotional, educational, website, or social media purposes.
Any permission to photograph or record a minor will be handled according to the photo/media consent provided by the child's parent or legal guardian during registration or through a separate release.
Health & Illness
Please do not send a child to a class, camp, or event if they are experiencing symptoms of a contagious illness or are otherwise unable to safely participate.
Healthy Steps Kids Cook may contact a parent or guardian if a participant becomes ill or needs to leave during a program.
Assumption of Risk
Participation in cooking activities involves certain inherent risks, including possible cuts, burns, slips, falls, allergic reactions, and other injuries associated with food preparation and cooking.
Parents and guardians acknowledge that participation involves these risks. Any additional waiver, release, medical authorization, or consent required for participation will be presented separately as part of registration.
Personal Belongings
Participants are responsible for their personal belongings. Healthy Steps Kids Cook is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items.
